On November 15th, AFLCT kicked off the second year of our EMERGE Teaching Artist Training Program! This year, thanks to funding from the Young Audiences Affiliate Development Fund, the International Association of New Haven, and the NHV Creative Arts Advancement from the Department of Arts, Culture and Tourism in New Haven, we were able to increase the cohort to include 10 emerging TAs. Facilitators Alex Novak Foster (AFLCT) and Lanea Collins (The TA Hub & Oddfellows Playhouse) will guide the 2024 cohort through 22 hours of training, 6 hours of observations, writing 3 lesson plans, and lesson implementation with students at Conte West Hills School.
This year’s Emerging Teaching Artists come from all corners of the state, and each is matched with a Teaching Artist Mentor from Arts for Learning CT’ Teaching Artist ‘s Roster. Meet the cohort below!
